Preschool Curricula
- Preschool Express
I find the intro to this site amusing since it's supposed to help
prepare children for success in school. Regardless, it has some good
ideas (and pretty easy to throw together) for preschool activities.
It's helpful when wanting to find something to do on those rainy days
or simply those "what the heck do I do with this kid" days.
There's a
subsection, Kitchen Math for Preschoolers that first caught my
attention.
- Enchanted Learning
I have used a lot of stuff at enchantedlearning.com My daughter was
interested in dinosaurs and they have lots of stuff. Coloring pages,
finger puppets, knock knock jokes, crafts, etc. We used a lot of
that. They are also a good place to look for very basic maps. We
used them for activites for Japan too a paper carp, paper folding,
etc.
- DLTK's Crafts for Kids
We rely heavily on [this site] for things to do with
my three-year-old. Actually, even my almost-seven-year-old enjoys
a lot of the projects. It's a lot of templates you can print out
(either colored or B&W so the kid can color themselves), then cut
out and paste together. My son is learning letters and numbers and
really enjoys the "buddies," large, colorful numbers or letters
with faces and accessories to glue on. Right now, he is getting a
lot out of watching Sesame Street, then doing a project or two that
coordinate with the number and letter of the day. Anyway, the cool
things about DLTK are that they are highly adaptable to the
age/interests/abilities of your child and that all of the crafts
are arranged by subject or holiday or whatever, so it's quick and
easy to find something to do today.
